The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was busy Monday night, responding to 248 calls in 24 hours up to early Tuesday morning.
There were four reports of moose seen roaming city streets in both the east end and northwest end of St. John's.
At 11:25 p.m. Monday night, officers conducted a traffic safety stop on Eason’s Road in Conception Bay South.
As a result, a man was arrested for driving while prohibited and breaching court orders.
According to police, the man owes $47,000 in outstanding fines and was also ticketed for operating without insurance. He was held for court and his vehicle was impounded.
Around 12:09 a.m. this morning, officers conducted another traffic safety stop on Bay Bulls Road in Kilbride.
As a result, a 46-year-old man who had $1,275 in outstanding fines was arrested for driving while suspended. He was held for court and his vehicle was impounded.
And around 12:30 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man causing trouble at the Health Sciences Centre emergency Room.
A 21-year-old man was arrested for causing a disturbance, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and breach of court orders. He was held for court.
