A Western Health facilties has recently implemented visitor restrictions on two of its floors due to the spread of gastrointestinal illness.
On Saturday, the regional health authority announced that visitation restrictions are now in place at Bakeapple Avenue in the third floor of the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home.
The day before, it announced similar restrictions at that building for Partridgeberry Place, which is located on the fourth floor.
Western Health said exceptions may be made in special cases for immediate family members. Those people are asked to contact the site directly if they would like to attempt to visit the facility.
The health authority continues to advise members of the public to wash their hands thoroughly when either entering or leaving one of its facilities. It also advises anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms to avoid visiting Western Health facilities.
