Vandals hit water treatment plant in Harbour Grace

The town of Harbour Grace has sustained significant damage to its water treatment plant which has resulted in a boil order.

The RCMP Trinity-Conception detachment was contacted in relation to damage at the Harbour Grace chlorine treatment buildings located on Bannerman Lake Road in Harbour Grace. Significant damage to the exterior emergency shut off system has resulted in a boil order for a majority of the town. Entry was gained into two buildings and damage was sustained both inside and out. The damage occurred sometime over the past 24 hours and is estimated to be approx. $20,000.

A member of the RCMP's Forensic Identification Section has been contacted and will be assisting with the investigation. Anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

    If a person were to die from drinking this untreated water could the person or persons be charged with man slaughter? Somebody knows who did this and needs to step forward.
