Garden pots, trays to be recycled in national event

Fifty garden centres in eight Canadian provinces are participating from June 21 to July 1 in a National Plastic Recycling Event to help home gardeners get rid of excess plastic pots, polystyrene cell packs and plant trays.

Garden Centres Canada/Canadian Nursery Landscape Association Retail Sector Group says gardeners can bring their clean, dry plant pots and trays to participating independent garden centres.

 In Newfoundland, they are:

• Bluefin Gardens, Holyrood;

• Blue Hill Garden, Conception Bay;

• Holland Nurseries, St. John's;

• O'Neill's Gardenland, Spaniard's Bay.
