RNC investigating assault in Seal Cove

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating an assault at a residence in Seal Cove, Conception Bay South Monday night.

Police responded to a complaint of an assault around 7:43 a.m.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon (a blunt instrument) and breach of court order.

Police say the male victim suffered minor injury. The suspect was held for court.

The RNC says the men knew each other.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman and 45-year-old man were charged Monday afternoon with theft from a Blackmarsh Road business in St. John’s.

Police were called to the store around 2:22 p.m. The woman has been charged with theft and breach of a court order, while the man has been charged with theft and two breaches of court orders. Both were held in custody until a court appearance.

 Around 3:25 p.m. Monday, a 13-year-old youth was charged with uttering threats at a home in St. John’s west end. The youth was released to appear in court at later date.

 A 21-year-old man was charged around 10 p.m. Monday night for operating a vehicle without insurance and failing to transfer ownership and a 36-year-old man was also arrested following a traffic stop around 1 a.m. Tuesday in the west end of St. John’s He’s been charged with refusing the breathalyzer test and impaired driving and will appear in court at a later date.
