Citizen call results in impaired driving charge

Holyrood RCMP charged a man today with impaired driving after he was found to have a blood alcohol level that was four times over the legal limit.

The RCMP responded to a call from a concerned citizen who observed the highly intoxicated man at a convenience store in Holyrood.

The man will appear in provincial court at a later date.

    Thank you to the citizen who had the fortitude and guts to call this in, despite the risk of being ostracized and banished by fellow "citizens" ---- which, don't kid yourself, is a HIGHLY possible scenario. Four times over the limit....that's pretty much unconscious at the wheel. Ah, friendly Newfoundland! Welcome tourists!
