The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Corner Brook says the cause of a residential fire on Musseau’s Avenue was accidental.
RNC officers and members of the Corner Brook Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 8 Musseau’s Avenue around 12:10 a.m. Monday.
Upon their arrival, the residence was engulfed in flames and damage was extensive. Both the male and female residents, as well as a family pet, were able to leave the home safely.
An RNC fire investigator and the Forensic Identification Section were on scene continuing the investigation Tuesday. As a result of the examination of the residence, the RNC said investigators have determined the fire to be accidental in nature and no criminal charges are expected.
