The RCMP allegedly protected diddlers within church & government in the bad old days, now they are after young layabouts who are scavanging porn from limewire? Seems farfetched to me, either way. I was in Ottawa this spring and was asked if I knew Brian Prior from Grand Bank. His story is online, interesting. The enablers are the real cowards in this game. A diddler, a porn viewer is sick, but an enabler, who stands idly by is the worst scum of all. Like the guy who stands by as his buddy smack the face off his woman. Worst of the worst and cowardice in these situations, and in politics/goverance are the ruin of our culture.

You people who complain of the justice system should know it is your justice system;these are your judges applying your laws as enacted by your politicians. If you have a complaint about how these matters are handled you can file a legal brief for reform to the criminal justice committee or even get help from your MP.I know if one of these people were of your family/friends or you yourself you would want a vigorous court defence and every consideration given.

child porn is beyond disgusting and anyone downloading or viewing it is also disgusting , but remember, innocent until proven guilty. just because someone is charged does not mean they are guilty, and just because they are found innocent does not mean they 'got away with it'...I just hope the police did their work properly so that the right perps/pervs are nailed, and it sticks.

Clearly these people are not contributing to society, if anything they are a drag in it. Its time for the justice system to start handing down stiffer sentences and think about protecting law abiding citizens rather than from criminals. When criminals who are a danger to society get weak sentences it doesn't deter them from becoming repeat offenders, especially if the crime they are involved in deals with making money, whether it be from distributing child porn, drugs, gun running, etc.

Don't think all these people are predators..I'm sure some of them we're simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Child porn laws are very strict..if someone even downloads a "trapped" pack of movies online..public domain or not..you can still be arrested for that honest mistake..some people get caught up in this and are branded for the rest of their lives based on an honest mistake. Yes, there are sick people out there who do these things..but in some cases...wrongful charges have been laid and lives have been ruined.

I completely agree with you and I'm glad some people know this. I am scared my friend's life is going to be ruined for something not being what is was supposed to be. He's such a great guy and It kills me what will happened to him and how it will affect his life. He's not what this is making him out to be. Wrong place wrong time, wrong click of a mouse. He's not a monster. Regardless of everyone here saying they are sick people, some are, this young guy is not!!!

Seriously? Is it that easy to accidentally download child porn and then distribute it? I don't think so, just based on our download history... Anybody supporting the victimizing of children by downloading the stuff should be penalized. This guy is no exception despite what he might have convinced his friends of... You always here "oh, he seemed so nice and down to Earth," "I can't ever imagine him doing something like that," etc. Well, welcome to reality.

That news so saddens me. I pray for the children and hope they will be able to have a good life after their ordeal. It will take a lot of help to heal them. I weep for those children.

The news said that some Judge let them out with a promise to show up later. Maybe sit in jail and if found guilty then 20-30 years in jail like in the States. Here the useless court system will sentence them to a weekend of house arrest.........

Anyone who attacks a child in anyway this should be a federal crime . Them maybe they will stop because they will know there are n no slap on the wrist .they will do time in a federal prison.. the one thing in life we should protect is our children .. the courts need to know the most serious crimes that have to stop are crimes against children and seniors ..no free passes no get out off jail cards .to all our judges we need to protect our children . Stop this now . Federal time and they serve all the time.. they are sick people who should not see the light of day again .we need to protect our children .

i know one of the guys and its all about limewire and ares. If your downloading porn and dont watch it or download an abundance of porn ( which is illegal either way i know ) and then those files start seeding to other people regardless of wether or not u actually watched it or just didnt delete it them youll still be charged for chiled exploitation. These peer 2 peer programs are terrible and u never know what your gettin because u cannot preview what you download. Beware of the things you download.

Agreed. I lived with and are best friends with one of these guys. Yes it's wrong but he honestly had no intention for it to be child porn. None of it is good but regardless I'm scared for his mishap and himself and I'm glad to see all of his friends sticking by his side through this.

What a load of BS! It's easy to download acceptable porn, then not seed it to others. Clever story your friend has there though. I hope he suffers all the consequences he deserves!
