All City of St. John's offices and facilities will be closed Monday for the Canada Day/Memorial Day holiday, with the exception of the city’s Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water St., which will be open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The regularly scheduled city council meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 2.
Also, in the interest of public safety during Canada Day fireworks preparations, pedestrians on a portion of the Quidi Vidi Walking Trail, adjacent to the rugby pitch, will be diverted from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 1 and the Quidi Vidi Dog Park will be closed.
If the fireworks has to be postponed on Canada Day, they will be rescheduled for July 2 at 11 p.m.

The City of St. John's will not enforce its parking meter regulations on Monday, but some downtown streets will be closed for a Memorial Day parade and service and vehicles parked in violation of regulations or obstructing traffic may be ticketed and towed.
There will be no garbage and recycling collection on Monday. Residents are reminded that regular garbage collection (areas 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B) and recycling collection (areas 1A and 2A) will take place on Tuesday, July 2.
