A single-vehicle accident in west-bound lane of the Outer Ring Road, just before the Paradise Topsail Road turnoff, is slowing traffic in the area this afternoon.

There were no injuries.

The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, spun around and crashed into a guardrail.

The roads were wet and it was raining at the time.

The RNC and the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the scene. A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.

The RNC is investigating the cause of the accident.

Organizations: Regional Fire Department

Geographic location: Outer Ring Road, Paradise Topsail Road

I find that my experience in driving helps me on days like these when its foggy, windy, heavy rain and standing water in the ruts. Oh, I can still do 140KM +; I've acquired an awesome skill by just steering with my knees, that way I can continue to text, floss, pet the dog, smoke, change the radio dial, give the finger to all those idiots in the slow lane, and still stay on the road; most-times. It's those damned dump truck races that give me a slight scare, but, I usually just light up a spliff then, and bury the needle. Afterall, the guardrails are there to keep me on my side of the racetrack.
