A St. John’s man appeared in provincial court in St. John’s today after being picked up in Toronto on a Canada-wide warrant for child porn-related charges.
Bernard White, 68, appeared before Judge Pamela Goulding on two charges including unlawfully accessing child pornography and possessing child pornography.
White was released on a recognizance and two $5,000 sureties, plus a number of strict conditions.
Those conditions include: not to have access to the Internet, not to possess any mobile or electronic device that has the capability to access the Internet, not to be in the company of anyone under 16 years of age unless accompanied by another adult, not permitted to leave the province, surrender his passport, and report to the RNC once per week.
His case will be back in provincial court July 25.
