Fight leads to assault, firearms charges in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Two men were arrested in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Sunday for their alleged involvement in a fight with another man.

According to Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP, both men have been charged with assault. Police said one of the men pointed a 41-gauge shotgun at the victim, a 23-year-old from Port Hope Simpson, and threatened to shoot if the victim fought back. The other man allegedly continued to assault the victim.

In addition to assault charges, the accused also face numerous firearms related charges, according to police. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Arrested were a 22-year-old from Moncton, N.B, and a 21-year-old from Happy Valley-Goose Bay. They have been remanded in custody and are set to appear in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
