Impaired drivers keep RNC busy over the weekend

At 5:50 p.m. Sunday, the RNC arrested a 28-year-old male for impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. The male was also given tickets for operating a vehicle without Insurance, operating a vehicle while under suspension and operating a vehicle with a cracked windshield. The male was released to appear in court at a later date.

 

At 7:30 p.m. the RNC arrested a 34-year-old female in the Kilbride area for impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. The Female was released to appear in court at a later date.

 

At 12:20 a.m. the RNC arrested a 67-year-old female in the area of Portugal Cove Road for impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. The female was detained for court in the morning.

 

At 1:17 a.m. the RNC stopped an ATV in the Kilbride area and arrested a 28-year-old male for various offenses under the Highway Traffic Act. The male was given a seven day driver’s suspension. He was also issued the following tickets for operating an ATV without Insurance, operating an ATV on a roadway while under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle without a helmet, and failing to transfer ownership. The ATV was impounded and the male will appear in court at a later date.

 

At 12:48 a.m. the RNC responded to a disturbance at a home in downtown St. John’s. A 42-year-old male was arrested for assault and breach of court orders. The male was detained for court in the morning.

RNC patrol officers also responded to a report of a male refusing to pay taxi fare in Kelligrews. As a result, a 17-year-old male was charged with assault and breach of court orders. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
