Eastern Health has completed all but one recommendation of the report of the Cameron Inquiry which looked into testing errors related to treatment for breast cancer patients.
That's according to an independent report.
Some 17 recommendations are considered considered finite. Some 22 recommendations are ongoing.
Some 39 recommendations of 60 made by Justice Margaret Cameron applied to Eastern Health solely.
A monument to the patients and their families is being unveiled.
The review was done by Jane Helleur and Associates.
The consultant said work on 15 of the recommendations went above and beyond and described the transformation in lab medicine at Eastern Health as remarkable.
"We have acted, we have changed," CEO Vickie Kaminski said.
