Centreville man charged after drugs, contraband cigarettes seized

A 54-year-old Centreville man is facing charges after police seized a quantity of cocaine, prescription pills, and contraband cigarettes in Gander Wednesday.

The RCMP's Gander Unit of the Federal Policing Operations West obtained a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act to search an apartment in town where the items were located.

The man, who was released from police custody later in the day, faces charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Revenue Administration Act, the Financial Administration Act and the Excise Act.

He is due to appear in provincial court in Gander in September.
