As a long time resident of Outer Cove, I know the council does everything in its power to keep the beaches clean. Howeverthey can't be there 24/7. Its everyone's responsibility to clean up after themselves. That way when the next people come its clean for them.

We visited Middle cove last week around 6:30 pm - 10:30 I got to say it was pretty good we didn't see a lot of garbage around at all ,we did burn our garbage but we did not burn our plastic bottles nor should you we just bagged it up and took it with us.It was fun no trouble 18-20 fires burning.I would say the drinkers and the party people show up much later when families leave.Yes a portable potty should be put in place also you need a hand rail put near the steps walking down to the beach me having a disability I had to hold on to my husband because there was nothing to hold on to.If I was by myself I would have never been able to go down there, but once down I just set up my chair at the bottom of the steps because it is very difficult to walk the beach but I was happy just to be there with my kids.

I can't understand how people can have garbage or litter left over after a beach fire. Unless it is metal, burn it as according as you make it.
