Government lays OHS charges in frozen fish accident

The provincial government has laid occupational health and safety charges two years after an accident on the wharf in Bay Roberts.

In a news release, the department of Service NL said that six charges have been laid against the Harbour International Limited for failing to provide a safe workplace, failing to provide instruction and supervision.

The accident involved a worker getting injured after frozen fish fell as it was being unloaded from the MV Aqviq in Bay Roberts.

The case will be heard in court Sept. 20 in Harbour Grace.
