Trinity Conception RCMP arrested a 34-year-old St. John's man Tuesday in relation to two service station break-ins and thefts in the Carbonear area.
According to the RCMP, the Esso Station on Water Street in Carbonear was broken into and a quantity of cigarettes stolen during the early morning hours on Sunday.
Also, early Tuesday morning, the Western Petroleum Station on Powell Drive in Carbonear was broken into and, again, a quantity of cigarettes stolen. During both incidents, the suspect gained entry by throwing a rock through the glass door.
The suspect is being charged with two counts of break and entry, one count of possession of stolen property (cigarettes) and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
He has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Harbour Grace Provincial Court, today.
