Citizen tip leads to impaired driving arrest

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was aided by citizen’s tip in the arrest of a 19-year-old for allegedly driving while impaired.

According to the RNC’s overnight report, the tip came in Saturday evening concerning a vehicle spotted on Bay Bulls Road in St. John’s.

Patrol division officers later located the vehicle in question and arrested a 19-year-old man. He was charged with impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle while exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
