Pellet gun shots wound cats in Codroy Valley

Three cats have been injured as the result of shots apparently fired from a pellet gun in the Codroy Valley.

Two cats were shot in the paw, while the third cat appeared to have been shot in the neck area. Police note that it is against both the Animal Health and Protection Act and the Criminal Code of Canada to cause unnecessary suffering to animals.

Port Aux Basque RCMP were informed of the matter on Friday, according to a news release issued over the weekend.

Police are seeking the public’s help to solve this case. Anyone with information about the matter is asked to contact Port Aux Basque RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

    If the coward knew when the Mounties would be around they would hid their stupid pellet guns. Keep your eyes & ears open no matter where you live in the Codroy Valley. Always thought the Codroy Valley was civilized but I guess there are sickening jerks everywhere. What chance does an animal have with some jerk hiding behind a gun!

    The 'Codroy Valley?' The Codroy Valley is more than 200 square kilometres. That's like saying a cat was shot in St. John's. Narrow it down for us.
