The RCMP sent out a news release Monday night saying Warren Peterson, who was reported missing in the morning, had been found and was "safe and sound."

Ferryland RCMP is seeking the public’s help in locating missing person Warren Peterson, 77, of Trepassey who left the town early this morning to pick up a passenger at St. John’s International Airport but did not arrive at the airport.

His passenger arrived at the airport at 8 a.m.

Peterson was driving a 2010 White Subaru Forrester bearing NL license plate HCT207.

Peterson is approximately six feet tall, 220 lbs, with shoulder-length white hair and hazel eyes.

RCMP patrols of the Irish Loop have failed to locate the vehicle or Peterson. Neighbouring RCMP detachments and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary have been advised.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Peterson or his vehicle is asked to call the RCMP at 1-800-817-6880.
