The RNC is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a hit and run collision that occurred on the parking lot of Sobeys on Meerymeeting Road in St. John’s about 5:10 p.m. Friday.
A red four-door car collided with a female pedestrian who was crossing at a crosswalk located in front of Sobeys. The driver of the red car failed to remain at the scene to assist the injured female. Additionally, the driver of the car failed to provide the pedestrian with any of the required information under the Highway Traffic Act.
The 21-year-old woman sustained what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from hospital.
RNC Accident Investigators are continuing their investigation into the collision and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
