Randy Follett is the new CEO of Business and Arts Newfoundland and Labrador — a not-for-profit group looking for greater interaction between business and arts organizations in the province.
The group has emerged from a roundtable meeting of business and arts leaders at The Rooms in May 2011.
"Randy is passionate about the arts and sensitive to the challenges that can be encountered when building relationships between the business community and the arts community,” said Mark Dobbin, co-chair of the group’s board of directors.
“We are confident that the passion, experience and skills that Randy brings to our organization will help ensure that we are able to engage with both communities."
According to a brief bio supplied by the group’s board of directors, Follett has more than 30 years of experience in the local arts scene and cultural industries.
Follett has worked for the federal government, the provincial government, private companies and non-profit groups. This includes 10 years as executive director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council.
More recently, he worked as an industry development officer with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation.
