RNC looking for witnesses to fatal vehicle-motorcycle accident

The RNC is looking for witnesses to a fatal motor vehicle-motorcycle accident on Kenmount Road in St. John’s about 11:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16.

The motorcycle driver, a 27-year-old man, died as a result of the accident.

The driver of the pickup that collided with the motorcycle, a 65-year-old man, has been charged with impaired driving causing death. He was released from custody to appear in provincial court at a later date.

The RNC said today it is believed that two individuals witnessed the collision and may have additional valuable information to assist the RNC Accident Investigation Section.

The RNC is looking to speak with the two occupants of a dark four-door sedan who were in the vicinity of the motorcycle and the truck at the time of the collision.

The vehicle in question had been travelling east on Kenmount Road and turned into the City Tire parking lot and parked facing Kenmount Road near a U-haul Truck. Those individuals are asked to contact the RNC.
