The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is continuing to have a busy week on the Northeast Avalon region..
Officers responded to 226 calls for service between early Thursday morning and this morning.
Three involved assaults and armed robberies.
Around 5 p.m.Thursday, RNC street patrol responded to a disturbance in the downtown St. John's area.
As a result, a 36-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon, mischief and uttering threats. He was conveyed to St. Clare’s to be treated for minor injuries.
A 21-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and was taken to the city-lock-up for court in the morning. Both persons are known to each other.
At 7:19 p.m. Thursday, RNC patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Villa Nova Pharmacy in Conception Bay South.
Two suspects entered the store with their faces covered, carrying weapons and demanding narcotics. They left on foot without getting anything after being confronted by an employee.
The RNC also believes a vehicle was involved in the getaway. The male employee received minor injuries.
The RNC said the suspects were armed, one having what is believed to be a firearm, the other had what is described as a hammer.
The first male suspect is described as approximately five feet, eight inches tall and 170 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was described as wearing a hoodie and grey pants. The second man is described as approximately five feet, two inches tall and 130 pounds. At the time of the offence, that suspect was wearing a hoodie and jeans.

At 9:11 p.m. Thursday, RNC officers responded to Maries Mini Mart on Torbay Road, the scene of another armed robbery.
A lone suspect with his face masked entered the store carrying a weapon. He left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes. The suspect was wearing a grey hoodie. The RNC criminal investigation division, identification unit and K-9 unit were on the scene. The investigation is continuing.
