Two men were arrested Saturday night in the St. John’s metro area for allegedly stealing goods from local businesses.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s overnight report, a 32-year-old man was arrested after police received a complaint about a possible theft at a convenience store on Topsail Road.
The accused has been charged with two counts of theft under $1,000. He was remanded in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
Earlier that evening, police were called to a business in Mount Pearl in relation to a theft that was still in progress. A 19-year-old was arrested for theft under $1,000. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
