The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is hoping to track down a woman who allegedly fled an accident scene earlier this month in St. John’s.

The accident happened at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8 at the intersection of Empire Avenue and Freshwater Road, involving a pickup truck and a car.

According to police, the woman driving the red Toyota Corolla stopped, retrieved her bumper and placed it in her back seat before leaving the scene. Police said she did not exchange any information with the driver of the truck as required under the Highway Traffic Act.

The pickup truck was also damaged. The man driving that vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and online at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
