A 59-year-old man from Holyrood was charged with impaired driving Friday after RCMP acted on an anonymous tip from the public.

Police say the suspect was observed operating his truck on Route 60 in the town and subsequently stopped and arrested.

The driver is to appear in provincial court on Oct. 11.

The RCMP said it would like to thank the concerned citizen who took the time to make this report and would like to remind others that if they have information relating to this, and/or any other crime, they can contact the RCMP directly at the toll free number, 1-800-709-RCMP (7267) or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477).
