A man accused of inappropriately spying on a woman at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s has been ordered to stay in jail.

Elijah George was denied bail today at provincial court in St. John’s at the conclusion of a three-day bail hearing.

Judge Mike Madden rendered his decision this afternoon.

George — a Nigerian living in St. John’s — is charged with voyeurism, as well as assault and sexual assault.

The charges stem from incidents that reportedly happened in May and involve three separate female complainants.

Kill a man with your car while you're drunk, go free on bail. Watch a woman while she's changing, NO BAIL FOR YOU. What a 'preferential' justice system we seem to have.

and why is he still in Canada?? Our government should save us a bunch of tax dollars (jail, feeding, clothing, trial costs etc) and drive him to the St John airport. Then load this sick twisted pervert ( family paper so I cannot say what I am thinking) onto a plane back to Nigeria and ban him from ever coming back. But they will not do such a sensible thing, instead they will keep him in jail where he will eat better food than I can afford, then have a trial where they will put him back in jail for 9 or 10 months then leave him out to molest other innocent victims.. Sorry state our country is in.
