Spent two nights outdoors, but reported in good health
A 68-year-old Grand Falls-Windsor man, who was reported missing, has been located and is reported to be in good health after spending two nights in the woods between Point of Bay and Cottrell's Cove.
The RCMP in Grand Falls-Winsdor received word of this missing person Friday morning after he failed to return home from a fishing trip the previous evening.
A two-day search effort followed and involved members of the RCMP’s General Duties and Police Dog Services based out of Grand Falls-Windsor, the Exploits Search and Rescue Team and a helicopter provided by Newfoundland and Labrador Fire and Emergency Services.
The RCMP says it would like to thank the members of the surrounding communities for their assistance in the search effort.

The RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor are searching for a 68-year-old male resident of the town who has been missing since Thursday. The male left a cottage at about 6:00 p.m. Thursday to go fishing. His pickup truck was found near Coyley’s Pond ( between Cottrell’s Cove and Point of Bay ) the following morning. The RCMP learned of the missing person on the morning of August 30 and a search effort was immediately organized. The search has included the RCMP’s Police Dog Services, the Exploits Search and Rescue Team and a helicopter. The RCMP say they will remain on scene overnight and a full scale search will resume in the morning.
