The RNC charged numerous individuals with fraud-related offences over the Labour Day weekend in and around the St. John’s area, the police force announced today.
Some of the cases include:
• On Friday, about 8:30 a.m., RNC officers responded to a report of a person having failed to pay taxi fare in the Mount Pearl area. A 32-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with fraud, resisting arrest and breach of court order. He was held in custody to appear in provincial court.
• About 7:30 p.m. Friday, the RNC arrested and charged a 31-year-old man with fraud and breach of court order. The accused was held to appear in provincial court.
• On Sunday, about 1 a.m., police officers responded to the area of Seaborn Street in St. John’s to the report of a male failing to pay taxi fare. A 21-year-old man was charged with assault and fraud. The accused was held to appear in provincial court.
