The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Corner Brook arrested and charged a 50-year-old man Thursday as a result of an incident at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Around 8 p.m. RNC officers were assisting medical personnel when the accused is alleged to have damaged hospital property by breaking a chair.
He’s also allegedly threatened to injure the police officers. The RNC said the man was also the subject of several previous court orders.
The man was detained at the Corner Brook Detention Centre. He has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm, mischief to property and two counts of failing to comply with court orders. The accused will appear in provincial court later today.
