When I heard about this from back home on Monday, I was so disturbed. If there was previous abuse discovered by neighbours why didn't anyone report it? This dog surely did not deserve what happened to her. She was a living breathing animal who deserved to be taken care of and loved. Dogs are helpless, innocent creatures who cannot speak for themselves, it is us as human beings that need to take the stand and speak up for them. Someone could of saved her life. As for the alcohol "being an excuse/reason" thats ridiculous. Being drunk does not condone behaviour like this. He should be charged and never to be allowed to be in company of animals or children for that matter alone.... as well he need help for alcohol abuse. If its a dog now, what or who may be next?

I'm an animal lover , and I can't even imagine or want to think about what that dog went through. An animal gives so much love , and in return they ask nothing but to be loved and cared for. They have no voice to speak for them , and the culprits usually end up not getting much in the way of punishment. Its time our laws get stiffer for such crimes, and someone be made an example of. People who commit such terrible acts of violence against an animal should be locked up , and should never be able to own another animal . This angered me so much when I heard this that it's still hard to talk about. People should start to speak up when they know of abuse going on , maybe this could of saved a dogs life.

Without knowing the full details of what went on, it is hard to really make comments that could be considered warranted. That being said, I would just like to state that if this in fact a case of a man putting down his beloved family pet under his owns terms, in the case of illness, then I support him. I know there are more humane ways of doing this, but perhaps there was a reason he chose to do it himself, assuming that is what happened. I grew up in coastal Labrador, and that was just the way things had to be. We didn't have vets in our communities, or even ones that travelled there. And it was damned near impossible to travel out of the community. I just hope and pray that this all works out for the best, and hopefully this isn't a case of a man just killing the animal for no reason. A sad situation either way.
