RNC seek public assistance in armed robbery investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the person responsible for an armed robbery on Queen’s Road in St. John’s Saturday.

Around 9 p.m., patrol officers, the RNC Police Dog Services, Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Services responded to a reported armed robbery at Queen’s Road Convenience.

Police say a male suspect, armed with a weapon, entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes, then fled the scene on foot with and undisclosed amount of both.

There were no injuries reported at the time of the incident. The male suspect is described as in his 60s, approximately six feet tall, with a

medium build. At the time of the incident he was described as wearing a blue jacket, black winter gloves and wrap-around sunglasses.
