A man and woman found dead Monday in a cabin in the Southwest Brook area both suffered  gunshot wounds, the RCMP said today.

Autopsies were performed by the province’s Chief Medical Examiner on Wednesday.

Considering the results of the autopsies and other facts uncovered during the investigation, the RCMP says they are not looking for any suspects and there are no public safety concerns.

The names of the 67-year-old man and the 54-year-old woman will not be released at the request of family.

Stephenville RCMP responded to the scene about 10:30 a.m. Monday. Corner Brook Forensic Identification Section, as well as Major Crimes Unit West, were also called to the scene.
