A man who barricaded himself inside a home in Avondale on Sunday has surrendered to police.
According to an RCMP news release, the 30-year-old has been arrested and is under investigation for possible charges of assault, pointing a firearm and uttering threats.
Police responded to the call early Sunday afternoon concerning a man who apparently barricaded himself inside a home with a firearm after pointing it at another person.
RCMP closed the Avondale Access Road in order to set up a perimeter around the home. The suspect eventually surrendered in a peaceful manner.
Following his arrest, the accused was transported to the Waterford Hospital for assessment. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Monday.
