A man who was reportedly caught by police driving while suspended Friday night no longer has the means to do so now that his vehicle has been impounded.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s patrol division conducted a traffic stop near the Portugal Cove exit on the Outer Ring Road late Friday night. Police discovered the 39-year-old man driving the vehicle owed $21,000 in fines in addition to driving while suspended.

Police issued summary offence tickets for driving while suspended, failure to transfer ownership, no registration, no insurance, and using a false sticker. He was also charged for breaching an undertaking and breaching a probation order.
