The 23-year-old Renews man had two black eyes and scratches over his face — likely the remnants of a vicious incident that happened Saturday night.
But Jesso’s injuries pale in comparison to those of a man whom Jesso is said to have brutally attacked.
Jesso was said to have ben involved in a fight at a beach party in Renews Saturday night. During the altercation, Jesso reportedly stabbed a man multiple times in the chest.
The 20-year-old victim from Ferryland suffered multiple stab wounds, according to Ferryland RCMP. He was taken to hospital and was in stable condition as of Sunday morning.
Police described the attack as a targeted one and said the public should not fear for its safety.
In court Monday, duty counsel Jane Fitzpatrick and Crown prosecutor Lisa Stead agreed to set the case over Wednesday. Jesso agreed to go back to jail until then.
He faces charges of aggravated assault, uttering threats to a woman and two counts of breaching probation.
Anyone with further information about the incident is asked to call Ferryland RCMP at 1-800-817-6880 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
