The bail hearing for a man accused of stabbing another person multiple times in the chest went into its second day Thursday and is set to resume today.

Spencer Rees Jesso, 23, appeared in St. John’s provincial court before Judge Lois Skanes. He was arrested over the weekend following what Ferryland RCMP described as a fight involving several people at a beach party Saturday night in the Southern Shore community of Renews.

The 20-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest and taken to hospital. In a news release issued Sunday, police described the incident as a targeted attack.

Jesso is charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats and failure to comply with a probation order. His bail hearing first got underway on Wednesday.
