RNC seeks public assistance in armed robbery investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Corner Brook is seeking the assistance of the general public in identifying the person responsible for an armed robbery at a convenience store on O’Connell Drive in the city.

On Sept. 3, around 11 p.m., police officers, the RNC’s Forensic Identification Section and Police Dog Service, with assistance from the RCMP, responded to an armed robbery at the Corner Market.

Police say a male suspect entered the store, armed with a knife and fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last observed travelling south on French’s Road toward the Dunfield Park area. There were no injuries in the incident.

The male suspect is described as being between five feet, nine inches and six feet tall with a slender build. At the time of the offence, he was wearing a dark blue jacket, jeans, a dark hat and sunglasses.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is asking anyone who has any information in relation to this armed robbery to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
