A St. John’s man will make a second court appearance Nov. 14 in connection with a marijuana seizure in September.
On Sept. 13, the RCMP/Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – Newfoundland & Labrador conducted an investigation regarding a suspicious package containing a controlled substance which was being delivered by a courier service.
Further investigation revealed the package contained several pounds of cannabis marihuana in vacuum sealed bags. A warrant to search a St. John’s residence was obtained under the authority of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, resulting in the seizure of 26.5 pounds of cannabis marijuana and the arrest of Roy Bailey, 31.
Bailey appeared in court on Sept. 18 and was released on a recognizance pending his next court appearance.
