The RNC is seeking the public’s help in relation to a pedestrian-motor vehicle collision that occurred on Elizabeth Avenue in St. John’s about 9:20 a.m. Sept. 30.

At that time a woman, on the crosswalk on Elizabeth Avenue near the Arts and Administration Building at Memorial University, was struck by a silver mid-size vehicle driven by a female described as being in her 40’s or 50’s.

The female driver did speak with the pedestrian and the pedestrian later attended hospital for treatment of injuries described as minor in nature.

The investigation into this collision is still ongoing at this time and the RNC would like to speak with the female operator of the vehicle.

The RNC is issuing a reminder to motorists to be vigilant of their surroundings, use extra caution when approaching crosswalks and avoid distractions while driving.

Pedestrians are reminded to avoid distractions such as texting while walking and to be alert and aware of their surroundings. Whenever possible wear bright colours or something reflective and make eye contact with motorists to ensure they are aware of your presence.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the immediate area is asked to contact police.
