A man was trapped after a building collapsed in Roaches Line Thursday afternoon.
Four workers were inside the partially-constructed building. One man was trapped under the rubble.
By the time amublance services had arrived, the other three workers had used chainsaws to cut wood away from the man who was trapped. They did not move him.
Officials at the scene did not know the extent of his injuries.
"He was lucky he was not near the walls," said Trinity Conception RCMP Cpl. Brent Hillier.
Police were called to the scene on Route 70 just after 4 p.m. Strong winds were reportedly responsible for the collapse.
Officials said the structure was leaning towards Bay Roberts before it collapsed towards the road.
Workers had been on site for the last three weeks. The building was intended to be used for storage and is owned by Pat Farrell.
Officials with Ocupational Health and Safety were expected to arrive at the scene by 6 p.m. They will conduct a parallel investigation alongside the RCMP.
