So Debbie is selling out her PCAs. Maybe they shouldn't have to pay their union dues if the union doesn't support them ........disgusted

The Government really needs to work on paying the nurses (BNs, LPNs and HCAs) what Alberta is paying their workers PLUS allow the LPNs to work to their full scope. It's a VERY sad day when nurses have to move from their province to "make ends meet". I live in AB and am a nursing supervisor. I've also held 2 management positions in my time here. Respect for nurses goes a long way and AB has my vote. I am a LPN and learned so much in the LPN program - why, why, WHY are LPNs being held back in NL?? I have a beautiful salary position which is double what I would have made back in NL BUT, NL is my home and to be living back in St. John's with a great paying LPN job is now only a dream. Our residents are the ones suffering for lack of care. Come on Government - get the lead out!!!

1 nurse is enough as they only push pills anyway and do not engage in personal care as they leave that to the LPN's and PCA's... I worked at this institution, thus am speaking from experience... LPN's and PCA's were always made to feel inferior to the RN...

I don't buy the "we don't have anyone to call in" statement. I'm an RN who's been trying to get work in St. John's for almost 2 years now, and willing to do casual. However, when I contact Eastern Health I'm told there are no positions available.

Oh do we have to listen to Forward again say that nurses clean fridges? Give me a break! If the nurses who are working these days did their work things would be fine. I hang out with some new nurses and all you hear them talk about is not wanting to do this, and not wanting to do that! They all dream about getting a desk job one day. Well you went into the nursing profession, do the work! That's the problem here!
