An Ontario man who caused a commotion at a local hotel got more than a drunk-in-public charge when he was taken jail.

Jordan Murphy of Belleville was charged with possessing illegal drugs when officers found he had 10 pounds of marijuana in his knapsack, which was searched when he got to the St. John's Lockup because if its unusual smell.

The 35-year-old appeared in provincial court this morning. Crown prosecutor Robin Fowler agreed to have Murphy released from jail on conditions that include he return to Belleville and come back to this province Dec. 5 for his next court appearance.
