The RCMP in the Bellevue area is looking for a boater who has been missing since Saturday, and they’re asking for help from the public.
A 61-year-old man left Bellevue Beach around 11 a.m. in a 30-foot fibreglass boat, heading for a cabin in Stock Cove which is only accessible by water.
After the man failed to come back, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax was notified, and a Cormorant helicopter was dispatched to search for him.
The boat has been found, but the man is still missing.
Ground search and rescue crews are working with a helicopter from the provincial government to continue the search.
Anybody with any information that could help is being asked to contact the RCMP or the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
