The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division has released a surveillance video and is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the persons responsible for an armed robbery on Malta Street in St. John’s on Oct. 20 around 1:15 p.m.
RNC officers, members of the Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Services responded to the armed robbery at Empire Convenience on Malta Street.
A male suspect armed with a knife entered the store and demanded cash before fleeing the scene. There were no injuries sustained during the commission of the offence. The incident is still under investigation.
The suspect is described as about six feet tall, 6’0” tall, 185 pounds, with short hair. At the time of the incident, he was described as wearing black jeans and had his face concealed.
The RNC is asking anyone with information that would assist in identifying the person responsible or anyone with any information in relation to this crime to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
