LEWISPORTE — There was a break and enter at the Outdoor Supply Store in Lewisporte between the close of business on Thursday, Oct. 31 and reopening on Friday, Nov. 1.

In a telephone interview with the Pilot on Nov. 4 Sargent Raymond Jullien reported that three firearms were stolen from the business instead of the larger amount first thought to be missing. There was also clothing, jewelry and money stolen from the store.

Sgt. Jullien said, “Any time firearms are stolen there is a concern for pubic safety.”

The Lewisporte RCMP is currently investigating the incident with evidence at the forensics lab expected soon.

The RCMP is asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to please contact the local detachment at 535-8637 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
