When you owe as much as what he owes in fines, AND HE IS NOT ALONE WITH OWING THAT MUCH, they should serve time in jail if they can not pay back that amout. And when it gets to owing that amount of money, then the government system is not doing its job either because it should never come to that. If i owe a fine related to a parking ticket I can not get my vehicle registered or my drivers license renewed unless I pay it. Why should they be allowed to go free owing $30,000.00 ?????? WAKE UP JUSTICE SYSTEM !!!!!!!!!!!!

The suggestion has beenmade a hundred times: Seize the vehicle and auction it after 30-days if the fines are not paid. Additionally anybody loaning these miscreants their vehicle and they're caught again...seize that vehicle too. But our government is too busy handing out cheques for future votes rather than creating the legislation that will give police to power to act.

If people here included their outstsdanding fines on their personal net worth calculation, as with car loans and credit card balances, I'd bet that a very high number of 'citizens' here (urrppp...) would have a highly negative net worth. So thanks to our government for reaching out the the parasites in our midst and supplying them with such wildly generous credit --- no interest, no payments. Ever. Hooray for our backwards little financial black hole!

$30,000.00 in Fines, It appears the police are doing their job ! " handing out fines" Where are the Courts and " PAY THE FINE OR DO THE TIME" There are thousands of drivers out there . NO Licence, NO INSURANCE, OWING THOUSANDS IN FINES WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND AN A PERSON IS INJURED FOR LIFE WITH THEM HAVING NO LICENCE AND NO INSURANCE , WHO ARE THE ONES THAT TAKE THE LOSS ? THE COURTS ARE FALLING BEHIND IT APPEARS THE POLICE ARE DOING THEIR JOBS, ITS THE COURTS THAT SHOULD BE SHAKEN UP

Am I the only one who can't understand how a person gets to the point of owing such large amounts of money? Isn't there a way to charge them and toss them in jail after say $2000 in fines, etc? Hilarious. And it happens almost every week in that City. No licence, insurance, registration...who cares.
