Arrest made in poppy tin theft at St. John’s coffee shop

Police in St. John’s have arrested a man suspected of stealing the proceeds from a poppy tin at a coffee shop.

A 39-year-old man is facing seven counts of theft. Each count relates to events of a similar natures at a business on Kenmount Road, according to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

The RNC was first alerted of the theft Friday morning. The accused was released following his arrest and will appear in court at a later date. Police said its investigation into the matter is ongoing.

    It is disgraceful that someone would carry out such a disrespectful act. Who cares if he is a 39 year old man? Really. If you are going to report on a story such as this one. Find out who the 39 year old man is and publish his name so everyone will know who he is and the best punishment for a crime like this would be to embarrass him with public humiliation.
